Climate
The climate of Kefalonia is temperate with mild winters, hot summers and plenty of sunshine throughout the year. In fact, Kefalonia boasts the most days of sunshine among all Greek regions.
During late fall and in the winter there is steady rainfall which explains the vegetation observed on the island. Although the winters are generally mild, heavy snowfall on Mt. Aenos is a usual phenomenon in the winter.
Gentle northern breezes blow during summer afternoons while stronger southern winds are common during the winter.
